-----------------------------------------------------------------
1. What is TMxxx?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The Mall Door allows the SysOp to offer their callers items the
SysOp wishes to sell. It will allow callers to order 10 items at
a time. It calculates the shipping & insurance fees.
The Mall has been designed to have the architecture of a shopping
mall. If registered, this version of THE-Mall offers
unlimited number of floor(s) of 12 shops that may offer
unlimited number of item(s) for sale per store. Otherwise it is
limited to 1 floor, with 12 store, that may only offer 1 item for
sale per store.
As the caller enters each store, a text file you create, will be
displayed to the caller. This test file could be snappy sayings
or just a brief discription of the store. It will then list the
item(s) that are offered thru the store. The caller then selects
the item they are interested in.
After the caller selects an item, another text file that you will
have created is displayed discribing the item and it's price.
They will then be given the chance to order the item, re-display
the discription, or exit.
As the caller moves from store to store, their orders will be
saved, and when they move to the Cashier, they will be given
several options on how to have the item(s) shipped, and how they
wish to pay for the item(s)
The door is set up to take as payment:
COD orders by US Mail, UPS Brown/Blue labels
Credit Card - Visa, MasterCard
The Caller mails in payment
Carriers set up in the Door are:
US Mail
UPS Brown
UPS Blue (2nd day air)
Federal Express

Tisket-A-Tasket assumes no liability for the use of this program,
and any SysOp using it takes and assumes all liability and
responsibility for it use and the damage that might occure thru
or during it's use.
THE-MALL (and any later version) in no way accesses or writes to
any PCBoard System Files, but the file DOORPCH35.EXE that is used
to interface THE-MALL to your open modem and to PCBoard does in
fact read several of the PCBoard System files and does in fact
write to the PCBOARD.SYS file when the door closes and returns to
PCBoard.

Tisket-A-Tasket
You are granted licensed use of Version 3.xx which remains the
property of Tisket-A-Tasket. The fee to register is $ 37.50,
and permits the SysOp to use Version 3.xx on his BBS and on
multiple nodes as long as these nodes share common file via a
multi-tasker or network. Use of Version 3.xx on multiple
3
computers that are independent and are not within the same
network, requires that each use be registered.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
4. Reporting Problems/Errors
-----------------------------------------------------------------
All errors should recover and cause the DOOR program to exit
gracefully and return to the main system. All errors are logged
in the "DOORPCH.ERR" file. The error number and line number are
included with the date and time. Errors will be either caused by
the TMxxx or DOORPCH35 (contact DOORPCH people). It should NEVER
cause the board to hang. If your board hangs, you are obligated
to contact the appropriate party and report the error and
circumstances that caused it. Because we are using Microsoft's
(c) QuickBASIC 3.0 run-time routines, it is possible that basic
will detect a fatal error condition. As mentioned above, we have
taken every precaution, but simply cannot code for every error
condition.
You must furnish all reports or problems in writing and furnish
on 360k 5.25" floppy disks all files used by the door program
which should enclude all those you have created or modified for
your use.
Send all these files and a brief discription of what was
displayed on you screen and exactly what the user was doing at
the time the error/problem occured.
Mail all of the above to:
Tisket-A-Tasket
350 Ward Ave, Suite 106
Honolulu, Hawaii 96814
-----------------------------------------------------------------
5. Environment Requirements
-----------------------------------------------------------------
You will need to have at least 256K of ram.
The door has file sharing set up and will require that SHARE.EXE
be loaded even if you are not running two or more nodes, not
running on a network, nor running DDos or any other multi-tasker.
This is true for PCBoard /D or /E. You may add the following
command line to your AUTOEXEC.BAT FILE:
4
SHARE
If you are running in NON-GRAPHICS mode, you MUST have ANSI.SYS
installed as a device driver in your CONFIG.SYS file:
Example: DEVICE=ANSI.SYS
DOORPCH uses this device driver for displaying all colors to the
local console. Color Graphics will always be sent to the local
console if you have defined to PCBSetup that you are running
graphics on the local monitor. If a caller is in non-graphics
mode (NG) on line 25, you will still see colors if PCBSetup has
been configured that way. The reverse is also true. If the
caller is in graphics mode (GR) on line 25) and the local console
is defined to be in non-graphics mode then colors will NOT be
displayed to the local console.
Two environment variables must be set in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file:
SET LIB=<drive:><path to DORPCH35.EXE> Note: ONLY the PATH !
Example: SET LIB=C:\MYLIB
The DORPCH35.EXE run-time library must then be placed in this
directory. If you keep the library in the <current directory>
with the DOOR program then this environment variable is NOT
required.
SET DOORPCH=PCBOARD <- This variable tells DORPCH35.EXE it is
running on a PCBoard system
All DOORPCH 3.5 DOORS require the DORPCH35.EXE run-time library
and the Microsoft (R) QuickBASIC 3.0 run-time library,
BRUN30.EXE, be present. Your DOOR program may have come with
these files in the ZIP file. If they are not present, this DOOR
program WILL NOT RUN. You require one and only one version of
these two libraries for ALL DOORPCH 3.5 DOORware. The files are
also available in DORPCH35.ZIP available on most PCBoard Bulletin
Board Systems. If you wish a fully detailed explanation of how
DOORPCH operates with DOORS, then you may read the documentation
within the DORPCH35.ZIP file within which this documentation may
be found.
To properly use the D)ownload feature for callers to download
your CAT.ZIP file, you will need to set a port assignment in your
DOS environment. You do this by inserting in your batch file the
following:
SET DSZPORT=1 'for COM1
or
SET DSZPORT=2 'for com2
5
-----------------------------------------------------------------
6. Door Install
-----------------------------------------------------------------
First you will need to create a subdir where all the TMxxx files
will be located. You may do this at a DOS prompt.
On the Program Library & Exchange system, all door subdir's are
located in the root subdir \DOOR. The command to create the
THE-MALL subdir would look like this:
C>MKDIR \DOOR\THE-MALL <enter>
Once you have created the subdir you will need to move your
TMxxx file into it. You may do this by using the DOS COPY command
at a DOS prompt. The command line would look something like this:
C>COPY A:*.* C:\DOOR\THE-MALL <enter>
Once you have copied all the files, you will now need to modify
or create the files that will be used by the door program. This
will allow you to tune the door for your use.
You may do this by running the included program INSTALL.EXE.
INSTALL will create:
UTILITY.CFG - Utility program config file
THEMALLx-CFG - Door config file
THE-MALL - PCBoard file to run door
Fx - Floor files
Sx.INX - Store Item Index files
(see Appendix A thru E)
Once you have run INSTALL, all your control files will have been
created.
You will now want to set up the display/graphics files needed by
the door.
You will want to create the DIRECT file (see Appendix F). With
this version of the door, there is not much call for it, as you
are limited to one floor, but under the expanded version with
unlimited number of floors, you will need this file.
This file may be in ascii and graphics.
This file is displayed to the caller when they want to move
between floors. It offers the floor number and a title for the
floor. You may create it or modify it to suit your needs. Just
remember that floors are numbered and you will want to be sure
the caller sees the number.
Next you will need to set up the store discription files (see
6
Appendix G).
The store file name starts with the letter S followed by the
store number.
This file may be as long as you like. But shorter the better.
Keep the discription or the one liners short so that you do not
loose your caller in a series of boring text displays.
For each floor you will need one file like this for each open
store. In the case of floor 1 the files would be S1 to S12
Floors 2 and above (if registered) the store numbers are based
on multiples of 12. The first store on floor 2 is store 13, and
the last store is 24. For floor 3 it would be stores 25 thru 36.
In a 3 floor Mall with all stores open you would have 36 files
with names of S1 to S36.
In the expanded version you may have up to 99,999 items in store
1, and up to 9,999 items is store 12. You would not want to do
that as it would make the maintenace on the door almost
impossible to do. Also it would have the caller looking thru a
catalog that would confuse more then help. It is suggested that
for any store in the Mall, you limit the number of items to 10.
Now you will need to create the text display files for the items
(see Appendix H).
The item file starts with the store file name followed by the
letter I and then the item number in the store.
Example: Store 1, item 1, the file name would be: S1I1
Store 12, item 9, the file name would be: S12I9
Now you only need use PCBSETUP to modify DOORS.DAT to add
THE-MALL.
Then modify your DOORS and DOORG file with the door name and
short discription.
And you are finished with the door install!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
7. Shipping Rate Files
-----------------------------------------------------------------
There are four files encluded that you will from time to time
need to make corrections on. They are the USMAIL, UPSBROWN,
UPSBLUE and FEDEXP files. They contain the info needed to
calculate the shipping charge for orders. These files must be
present!
USMAIL - US Postal Service rates
UPSBROWN - UPS Brown surface rates
7
UPSBLUE - UPS Blue 2nd day air rates
FEDEXP - Federal Express standard air rates
US Mail (see Appendix I) and UPS (see Appendix J & K) have a cut
off of 70 lbs. You will find these files to be exactly 73 lines
long.
The first line is the Return Receipt Request price (UPS call
theirs an AOD - Acknowlege of Delivery)
The second line is the insurance rate per $ 100.00 of declared
value.
The third line is the COD rate, in the case of US Mail - per $
100.00 of declared value, and in the case of UPS a flat fee.
The next 70 lines contain the fees assessed by weight. So the
first line (line 4 of the file) would be for 1 lb, where as the
last line is for 70 lbs.
Federal Express (see Appendix L) has a cut off of 150 lbs. This
file is 152 line long.
The first line is the insurance rate per $ 100.00 of declared
value.
Line 2 is the minimum insurance fee.
Lines 3 to 152 are the fees assessed by weight. Line 3 is for 1
lbs and line 152 is for 150 lbs.
As these services change their rates you will need to update
these files.
In the case you are having problems updating the files you may
write for updates from Tisket-A-Tasket. There is a $ 10.00 charge
for a update disk for these four files.
In another case if you are selling items that are intangeble, you
may set all values in the shipping files to 0.0. This will cause
the door to compute $ 0.00 for shipping & insurance, or you may
set all the weight variable in the STORE.INX file as 0.0. This
will also compute shipping & insurance as $ 0.00... This could be
used for those offering magazine subscriptions, or even access
fee to the bulletin board. At this time this is the only way to
get the door to NOT compute shipping & insurance.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
8. Door Operation
-----------------------------------------------------------------
When the DOOR is in operation you have complete control over the
caller. This DOOR was written using DOORPCH version 3.5. The
logic is safe. However, if something goes wrong - like real bad
wrong, sorry but we probably can't help. Every precaution has
8
been taken to insure this code works flawlessly. If it doesn't,
let us know. Many function/operational keys are at your
disposal/use:
F1 - Displays the version of DOORPCH compiled and linked into
the DOOR.
F2 - Displays a callers Alias if one is used via the Door
Monitor program (DOORPCH version) - future.
F3 - Reserved for the future.
F4 - Toggles the Bell on/off. May activate the DOOR Bell.
Value is returned to PCBoard when DOOR completes.
F5 - DOS Shell. Allows SysOp to exit to DOS from inside a
DOOR.
F6 - Displays available MEMORY and available STRING space.
F7 - Toggle the alarm on/off. May activate the DOOR Alarm.
Value is returned to PCBoard when DOOR completes.
F8 - Returns the caller involuntarily to PCBoard.
F9 - Toggles the display on/off. Value is returned to PCBoard
when DOOR completes.
F10 - Activates SysOp / Caller CHAT mode within the DOOR.
ESC - Deactivates CHAT mode. DOOR is resumed.
HOME - HELP key for line 24/25 capabilities.
END - Displays Callers name and miscellaneous information.
PG-DN - Displays Data Phone, Home Phone, Password, User Comments
and SysOps Comments.
PG-UP - Displays Conference caller may access.
UP - Allows the SysOp to temporarily add additional time to
the caller while in the DOOR. This time is NOT returned
to the BBS.
DN - Allows the SysOp to temporarily subtract time from the
caller while in the DOOR. This time is NOT returned to
the BBS.
ALT-N - SysOp next on control/indicator. Value is returned to
PCBoard when DOOR completes.
ALT-X - PCBoard will exit after current caller completes their
session. Value is returned to PCBoard when DOOR
completes.
9
-----------------------------------------------------------------
9. ORDER LOG
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Once a caller enters the door, they may order items you have
offered.
As each transaction is complete via the Cashier routine of the
door, the order and all info pertaining to it is appended to the
file called: ORDERx.LOG (where x = the node number the caller is
logged in on; See Appendix M).
If you are running under a network or a multi-tasker, you will
find a log for each node.
These are text files (ascii) and may be dumped to your printer
with the following command at a DOS prompt:
COPY ORDER1.LOG LPT1:
COPY ORDER2.LOG LPT1:
Once you have them printed out, it is recommended that you delete
them. They in time will grow to be monsters in size.
All the info you need to process an order is contained in the
log.

Electronics Stores
On this floor you will find 12 fine
shop with at least 1 up to 9 items each
covering areas such as TV', Radios, CD
Players and Discs.
Be sure to check them out.
Line 1 - is used by the door to tell which stores are open or
closed. So that the SysOp will not need to have
additional files for stores that are closed or not used.
It is 12 characters long and made up of O for open and C
for closed. In the above example stores 1 and 2 are
open, all others closed.
Lines 2 - 13 - are the two store titles. Each title may not be
more than 11 character long. The titles may not contain
comma, semi-colons or colons. In this example when the
door displays the map for the floor, it would look like
this:
ZDDDDDDDDDDDDDBDDDBDDDDDDDDDDDDD?
3 Closed Close 3
3 For Rent For Rent 3

As you can see the stores are numbered bottom to top,
left to right. The bottom most left hand store is store
#1, the bottom most right hand store is store #2. And so
on and so forth.
Lines 14 - 33 - Contains a brief discription of the floor. The
SysOp could set up the floor to contain only products of
a certain kind. Like a software floor or a hardware floor.
You are only allowed 20 lines of 39 characters. Besure
not to go over either limit as it will cause display
problems. You need not have 20 lines, but may use as
little of them as you need. The same is true for the
line lengths. You may make then smaller if you want.
